Can you imagine having to go to trial at 10 years old having to fight for your freedom, Safety, and even life? Well that is exactly what these characters feel! Day and June share similar traits such as determination and intelligence, but they are also very different in many ways. Day is caring and June is rude. Day and June are alike in many ways, for example day and june are both determined I know this because in the book June says “ I make a silent promise to my brother’s killer. I will hunt you down. I will scour the streets of los angeles for you. Search every street in the republic if i have to. I will trick you and deceive you, lie, cheat, and steal to find you, tempt you out of your hiding space, and chase you until you have nowhere else to run. I make you this promise your life is mine.” June is determined to find Day. Day is also determined. He is determined to find the plague cure for his sick mother and brother. I know this because he goes into the central hospital, pretends to be hurt, then sneaks through the air vents trying to see where they might have the plague cure. Day puts his knife to a man's throat and says “ i won’t hurt you where is the cure” this shows that he is determined to find the cure.
