After reading and watching the book and movie of to kill a mockingbird I have noticed many differences between them. Although the movie is about the book there are many parts that were either changed or not put in. These changes may not affect the main storyline, but it can affect the readers of the book. The first main difference that I noticed between the book and the movie is Miss.Maudie's house fire. This section has a big part in the kids obsession with Boo Radley. In the book when the kids sat in front of the Radley house cold, while watching the fire a mysterious man suddenly showed, who ended up being Boo Radley, came out and gave Scout a blanket because she was cold. In the book they also find a pack of gum and a piece of gum with the other items, while the movie doesn't show gum in the box Jem shows Scout. One last thing that was different about this part was when Nathan Radley cemented the hole. In the book they found the items a while before Nathan Radley cemented the hole, while in the movie right after they found the items Nathan Radley cemented the hole. This affects the story by limiting the description on Nathan
