“Brutus the Patriot” Brutus is most recognized and seen as a betrayer to fellow citizens and fellow leader Caesar. Throughout the story I think Brutus is a patriot. His time as leader showed patriotism towards his beloved Rome. Despite the assassination of Caesar, Brutus took this decision because he did not want Rome to go under. Caesar was leading Rome into the wrong direction causing Brutus to take action to take Rome to the greatest city. Although Brutus was a deceiver to leaders of Rome, patriotism was in his mind, blood, and heart. Brutus is being proven as a patriot to his beloved Rome. “Romans, countrymen, and lover! Hear me for my cause, and be silent, that you may hear: Believe me for my honor and have respect for min honor that you may believe.” This was said in Brutus versus Antony famous speech.
