The Civil Rights Movement was a protest against segregation and discrimination which took place in the 1950’s. The movement was a struggle for social and economic justice that occurred in the mid 1900’s to have African Americans get equal rights. There were many well-known names a part of the movement such as Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, and many more. There were many things that took part in this movement, such as the legal and legislative side, such as fights for rights, economic and educational progress. There were a few legal and legislative achievements with the movement. A Legal Achievement was the Supreme court case of Brown v. Board of Education (1954).
