I think that the author liked the bachelor’s story more than the aunt’s. In this story, I can infer that the children’s upbringing is very stern. I believe this because the aunt tried to get the kids to calm down and listen to the rules by telling them what to do and what not to do. For example, in the story it states, “’Don’t, Cyril, don’t,’ exclaimed the aunt, as the small boy began smacking the cushions of the seat, producing a cloud of dust at each blow.” This shows that the aunt tried to get the child to calm down and listen to her by being firm. Another upbringing of the children could be caring. The aunt was caring to the children because she cared when they listened to the bachelor’s story and thought it was improper. In the story
