According to social media, Doug Mirabelli, former catcher for Red Sox currently resides in Michigan. In Discussion 6, Doug and Scott briefly speak on “pitching and catching” this caused me to wonder if he was a former baseball play and I was able to find this information on social media. Doug doesn’t work in law enforcement, in discussion 5 Doug states “I 'm sure a lot of law enforcement would love to answer. I for one do not have a good answer for that, other than what the profilers do to determine who they think it may be.”

Englishes mean the different ways in which Amy Tan, the author, talks to certain groups of people. I beilve she uses the world Englishes instead of dialects because dialects is such a formal word and she her self is not a scholar of the English language. So, in using a colloquial term like ENglishes it is more relatable to the situation she is referring to.
We shout them, whisper them, create them, sing along to them, and curse them: words. Words are one of our most powerful tools. This tool enables people to convey thoughts and feelings; starting wars and making friends, telling the guy who cut you off on your way to work how you really feel. With that being said, various people from across the globe have passed down words of wisdom, each culture holds a myriad of proverbs. Life is a mental game and people find that inspiring quotes helps to give them an extra burst of positivity to keep trudging through or to get sprinting.
“We should look upon speech and action in a human being as persuasive, as expressive, as being used for the purposes of getting others to see events in the light that the…. [communicator] wishes them to be seen,” wrote Rom Harre`. The quote stated is the foundation and understanding of a presidential debate and the candidates themselves. As an individual in society, I never understood one of the most important roles of being a citizen. I never comprehending the basis of politics and presidential debates; however, something that is extremely terrifying is most individuals don’t.
Around the globe colleges, schools, and communities face a never ending battle with anonymous social media. Teens are using vulgar language, combating whomever they desire without any disciplinary actions. Jonathan Mahler a journalist for The New York Times, author of “Who Spewed That Abuse? Anonymous Yik Yak App Isn’t Telling” claims that the anonymity of social media, such as “Yik Yak” should be enjoined due to the way it is pestiferously and profoundly utilized. Due to significant evidence provided by Mr.Mahler throughout his article, I concur with his position on anonymous social media.
My perspective on chapter 16 is a familiarization of all the chapters we previously discussed and debated in class are intertwined together. Some of the topics we discussed and debated in class are sports played a major part in social relations where people utilize theories and ideologies to identify different issues and controversies in society. Being an agent for change of sports in the future will vary with each individual. Sports in the future will continue to evolve where everybody will have to adapt to the latest trends as change is inevitable. Becoming aware of the current trends and factors that influence them is the starting point for being effective agents in creating futures we want to see.

So I'm not one to rant on social media but here it goes... Doesn't everyone remember being told from a very young age, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"? I'm so repulsed by the hate and uneducated prejudice so many feel the need to express as they hide behind their computer screen. Just because someone is a different race, ethnicity, religiondoes not mean that they are any less worthy of a human being than you. I feel so honored and lucky to of met people from all different backgrounds and walks of life during my time here at MSU and it breaks my heart to see how ignorant fellow human beings can be with their rants of ignorance.
