Traders: Millions By The Minutes – As Simple as it Seems?

It was billed as the insight into the world of online trading that we had all been waiting for. In some instances the BBC 2 two-part documentary Traders: Millions By The Minute delivered just that. It turned out to be an informative, educational and entertaining show, that probably piqued the interest of would be investors across the country. However, many have branded the documentary somewhat reckless in how it didn’t show the downside of an industry rife with risk. It left many asking, is online trading as simple as it seems?

Those who sat down and watched Traders: Millions By The Minute saw the two part show display stories of financial success. Along with up and coming traders that believed that they were ready for the big time. It all made for a great watch, but the fact is there is more to online trading than meets the eye. The task is far more difficult than the show will have you believe. One thing that the show doesn’t address in enough detail is the sheer amount of time it takes to be successful, or even reach a functioning level in the stock market. Anyone who looks at the stock market shouldn’t think it is easy as picking a few names and letting the money role in. Research is also another key element of the field that is by no means easy to do effectively. The likes of Jane, may have made it seem effortless or even like a guessing game when detailing how they have achieved their successes. However, if you were to come away thinking about online trading that way it would be extremely foolish. Research was a key element that was overlooked. There is no doubt that Traders: Millions By The Minute was educational, but in some aspects it overlooked key areas of online
