Several factors contribute to successful training and development. Training and development should meet several goals. Focusing on individual needs while still maintaining organizational goals and performance, reflecting learning goals or outcomes, and utilizing learning principles to maximize learning are all critical to the training and development process (Clevesy, Snyder, Snyder, Hyslop, Jones, & Steisel, 2014). Creating development plans, establishing goals for performance, and constructive feedback are three items I feel will help to develop new staff (Olenski, 2015). Not only will the employees enjoy working for a company who is concerned about their performance, but they will also want to strive for higher performance standards and seek other areas in which they can use their abilities.

Companies must invest in training and development for their employees to maintain the success of their organization. Change is inevitable, and it is crucial for managers and delegated staff to work together and develop training plans for company growth continually. A company's mission is to offer the highest quality service, but doing so requires teaching your employees to do the same for the clients (Ikinci, 2014). Training does not just include new hire training. "The manager who has a potential successor in the process of development usually has readily available coverage for vacation and illness as needed" (Fallon & McConnell, n.d.).
