Technical Definition
A Trauma Center is a specialized hospital that offers medical services and resources for patients that are victims of major traumatic injuries. These hospitals must provide immediate, best possible care for life-threatening serious injuries from an extensive variety of causes. There should be a required team of specialized trained healthcare staffs that are available within 24-hours of service. The health care staffs to provide professional services include the nurses, radiologists, anesthesiologists, trauma surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and cardiac surgeons. Proper treatment has been appeared to reduce the probability of death or changeless inability to injured patients.
In United States, there are certain levels of classification into which a trauma center belongs this is in accordance on the kinds of resources that the hospital provide and the volume of patients admitted yearly. To assure the legibility of the Trauma Center to provide health care services, they must pass the set standards through the accreditation process. A Level 1 Trauma Center aims to give the utmost medical care for the victims of seriously traumatic events and works in partnership with level 2 for transfer agreements.

The proponent will analyze the medical condition within the specified region to justify the need for a trauma center that will cater emergency cases. The guideline provided by the study deals primarily with a facility-based trauma center.
