The First World War was global conflict. However, it was mostly fought in Europe during 1914 and 1918. Trench warfare changed how each country fought during ww1. Trenches have been around since 1861-65 in America civil war. Is only been until World War 1 when countries introduced fixed trenches each other in line of trenches extending from the Belgian coast through northeast France and Switzerland. Trench warfare reached its highest development on the western front during World War 1. When armies of millions of men faced.
