“Hele hou mai” is the last thing I heard as I was walking into the Hawaii airport to head back home. Last year my family and I, besides my dad, visited Honolulu Hawaii. We went to Hawaii for a family trip, and to see the NFL Pro Bowl. We were in Hawaii for 9 days, and if you were ever wondering how long it takes to get all the way to Hawaii from Kansas, it’s probably best you don’t know. To get to Hawaii it took us 2 plane excruciatingly long rides. The first plane ride was going to Utah City, and it took us about two hours and thirty minutes. The second plane ride was almost 8 hours long, and it was from Utah to Hawaii, except we basically rerouted our first plane ride, but kept going. When we got there we toured Honolulu. The bus driver said it would take about 3 hours to drive around the entire Island, but we didn’t intend on doing that. After the bus driver dropped us off at our hotel that we were going to be staying at, we went and looked at all the stores Honolulu had around our hotel. But of course, after that we went to the beach. Hawaii’s time was 3 hours behind the time I was used to, therefore it was really hard to get used to going to bed and waking up at the right times. The line to get into Aloha Stadium took about 2 hours. The Pro Bowl is when two Hall of Fame football players pick their teams and play each other, but they can not pick any players playing in the Super Bowl. They usually pick the best players in the NFL at a certain position. The two quarterbacks were Russell Wilson and Tom Brady. Also, one cheerleader from each professional football team gets nominated to go cheer at the Pro Bowl. The day before the pro bowl we got to meet all the cheerleaders at a party on the beach.
