I want to create a movement that will obtain the traction needed to convince government officials that speed limits need to be increased around the United States in order to make roads more efficient and safer for everyone. It would start with the people driving in the United States and then use the traction it achieves from the recognition to influence the government officials who can make the real changes. I want to see the roads become a safer place and one of the best ways for this to happen would be to decrease the large amount of variance on the roads. The best course of actions for my audience to take would be to spread awareness on the issue of slow speed limits so that change can eventually be made. This would include most people age sixteen and over, male and female, all ethnicities, all levels of educations, and citizens of the United States. Furthermore, my audience would include pedestrians who walk in proximity to roads or cross them to reach their destination. For greater variance in driving speeds causing cars to be spread apart making it more difficult for people to cross the road as there is constant traffic. People who ride in car can also be affected strongly whether they just don’t have a driver’s license or are too young or otherwise ineligible to receive one. This issue would also greatly affect people who drive for their income and the companies they work for. Truck drivers would be allowed to drive at higher speeds causing deliveries to be quicker improving the business that certain companies could provide allowing the economy to improve as a side benefit. This makes this group a huge target as a part of my audience. My audience would also include government officials who have the power to change the laws. The evidence that is effective for this audience can vary greatly because of how wide and diverse the audience is. This allows all evidence to be fairly effective because it will almost always affect some part of the audience. However, the best evidence would most likely be valid statistics and official documents. This is because people can easily understand statistics and official documents can be
