You see a blast six miles away as bright as the sun, then the ground shakes tremendously. You just saw an atom bomb go off over Hiroshima, Japan. Prior to this day President Truman gave orders to drop the atomic bomb to try ending world two. Truman was justified to drop the atomic bomb to end the war because it was planned strategically, he had good political reasoning, and he had good moral points as to why it was okay in dropping the bomb.
The war had been going on for six years before the Nazi Germans officially surrendered May 7, 1945. Truman was strategically correct to drop the bomb because with the war going on for so long he no longer wanted to keep sending soldiers into battle to die with the war being close to over; and he probably saved the lives of thousands of soldiers from not invading Japan because the U.S. knows that Japanese men fight to the death and that surrendering is a sign of cowardness and they will be shamed at home by everyone. Truman’s plan worked strategically and well politically also. This is because as the war was going on in the PTO the U.S. was also fighting Russia in the Cold War, seeing who could be the best power and with Russia trying to expand communism,
America was able to use the atomic bombs as a scare tactic and Truman bluffed saying that the military had more bombs standing by and ready to use if they keep trying to expand. This was able to hold off Russia expanding and show everyone that America is ready to take action if needed. On the other hand Truman wasn’t so justified morally. He was half right by dropping it because he saved the lives of tons of soldiers and he
