The healthcare delivery landscape involves the collaboration of healthcare workers from various professional backgrounds (Nacioglu, 2016). For instance, nurses tend to work with physicians, pharmacists, and laboratory technicians among others to meet health objectives among patients. The related goals include the clinical roles such as diagnosis and treatment while non-clinical functions include dissemination of health information. In this case, communication is critical in building trust among team members. Efficient communication process will enable team members to talk to the leader openly. This approach will also encourage team members to communicate efficiently amongst one another. Effective communication is critical for understanding the vision and objectives of the group (Bosch & Mansell, 2015). Moreover, it is essential in redressing the issues that may arise during a group formation, thus facilitating the understanding of one another. Lastly, a leader should possess critical assessment skills. This trait enables leaders to understand the personality of each group member, including values, cultural affiliation, nursing ideological affiliation, experiences, strengths, and weakness. These pieces of information enable leaders to establish a worker-centered management process. Specifically, the team members should be aware of the skills and competence of one another. This approach makes it easier for the team members to appreciate the contribution of one another. The appreciation arises when tasks are allocated according to the demonstrated level of skill and competence in the delivery of healthcare services to patients. Secondly, team members can facilitate trust by sharing information with one another. The sharing of knowledge, such as the new treatment regimes, emerging drugs, and new policies or regulations encourages trust among team members. It creates a sense of togetherness and dependence among team members. Moreover, the sharing of responsibility also promotes the development of trust within an inter-professional team. Sharing responsibilities implies that team members perceive the skills, knowledge, and opinions of one another as critical in the achievement of the related healthcare objectives.
