The purpose of this project is to investigate the disinfecting properties of sunlight(UV Light). The control group is the 3 types of lake water, and the variable groups are the water exposed to sunlight. The independent variable is the strength and different types of lights used, also the time under the light.

What problems does it cause?- Water pollution can cause problems such as death of aquatic or water living animals, spread of disease, and destruction of animal ecosystems.
Death of aquatic animals- Water pollution kills wildlife especially aquatic animals, by contaminating the water with garbage, oil, chemical waste. and many more things.
Diseases- Humans are also affected by water pollution. People can get very sick from drinking contaminated water, or eating seafood that has been poisoned by that water.
Destruction of ecosystems- Many animals are losing habitats due to wildlife pollution, one of the biggest contributions to this is water pollution because of the dangerous chemicals and bacteria put into that water.
Where is contaminated water a problem?
Third world communities- People in third world countries don’t always have access to clean water because of expenses and lack of technology. 2.4 million deaths could be avoided each year if water was not
