How will completing your BSN will help you improve lives with UcHelath, the mission statement of UCHealth states: “We improve lives. In big ways through learning, healing, and discovery. In small personal ways through human connection. But in all ways, we improve lives.” This question that you have asked, is answered through the mission statement that we work on an everyday here at UCHealth. There has been a bunch of research that show’s BSN nurses are better than ADN Nurses. When I was conducting this research, I was thinking that there wouldn’t be much of a difference in the care that I will be giving to my patient’s and based upon the research that was completed there is a great deal of a difference between the two programs. As we see at UCHealth we are always in need of nurses currently. UCHealth is always looking for nurses that can lead, and able to improve people’s lives. It has been shown that BSN program emphasizes leadership and evidence-based practice in a way that ADN programs are not able to. There isn’t enough time for the ADN programs to be able to teach all the future nurses the leadership that is needed at this time. I felt that I was lucky that I was able to complete majority of my leadership skills with the Military where I did complete a leadership program within the ranks of the Air Force. Before, I have joined the UCHealth family, I was in a leadership role with the previous company that I was working for, and I found out that even though I did have that leadership training, there was still insufficient training compare to the training and schooling that you may receive with the …show more content…

A BSN Nurse can focus more on Chronic and preventive care, have more skills in leadership, research, critical thinking, teamwork, evidence-based practice, and areas of specialty. With all the additional credentials that UCHealth has been receiving they are going to need more nurses with higher amount of education, to provide better care to the patients. Patient’s even been saying that the care here at UCHealth has been increasing every time that they have been coming to this hospital, it’s been showing that due to the higher number of educated nurses and the requirement of higher BSN’s it has been increasing our patient satisfaction scores. The Colorado State Board of Nurses state that BSN will gain more in-depth knowledge. With UCHealth having a higher amount of BSN graduates, research does show that there is lower congestive heart failures mortality, decubitus ulcers, failure to rescue, and postoperative deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism and a shorter stay. This shows that with a BSN degree you will be able to provide better patient care, and this also goes right with the mission statement of UCHealth as BSN degree will improve
