The meaning of life has been and still is one of the biggest questions in philosophy. There are numerous different ways to try to answer this question, and give it some insight. There are different perspectives about the meaning of life, in that there can be religious explanations, or absurdity. Uncovering the concept of absurdity and how it relates to the meaning of life will help shed light to this question. A Christian perspective on the meaning of life brings about controversy, but it is the answer for many many people around the world. The clash is between the significance of our actions to ourselves, and their significance to others (Rowland 2). This concept of and inside view entails what someone is personally experiencing. The inside view is where we believe we are giving ourselves significance, while the outside is whats actually happening absent of the inside perspective. The outside view involves others and what is actually reality. A good example of absurdity could be a wrestler. A wrestler may think he is good after he wins a state championship in a state that has a low skill level. He is getting a whole different experience compared to those that are watching. When he gets that euphoria after he wins state, the feelings he is experiencing are an inside point of view. In reality someone that knows how low a skill level that particular state has will not be as impressed. This outside spectator knows there are far better wrestlers and wrestling states, which makes it not as impressive. The reality is that the wrestler is not as good as he thinks he is. Just because Christianity is in the religion category, it does not mean that its answer will be like any other religions answer. It comes as no surprise that the Christians pull out there bible to answer this question about the meaning of life. In the Jeremiah 1:5 it says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations”. Interpreting a verse or anything out of the bible will mean something to a Christian, while someone who isn’t a Christian could interpret verses far differently. As a Christian this verse in Jeremiah hold great significance. God saying that he knew us before we were conceived shows God’s omniscience. The idea of an omniscient God is comforting to a Christian. Later in the verse it says that he consecrated us before we were even born. If God is consecrating us that must mean he has a plan for us. God didn’t make us for no purpose, and at the end of the verse it says that he appoint you a prophet to the nations. God is trying to say that he has a mission for the Christians. Our purpose is be a prophet by spreading his word throughout the world. Matthew 28:19-20 expands upon the verse in Jeremiah by saying, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that
