I think I always glean more from watching Wong in action than I do reading. The way Wong expresses himself when he talks about his teaching strategies helps me make connections from Unit E. Unit E and Wong both discuss how you should set positive expectations for students to achieve in the classroom. If we have positive expectations in the classroom for each students then they will be doing all the work not us. Wong said that when implementing his practices into your classroom you should slowly introduce things. I found it fascinating how Wong said the problems that we face in the classroom are not from our students they are actually from us. We may not want to fix things in our classroom because we don’t know how but if we come together as a family like Wong mentioned we can share ideas between teachers. You can increase positive student’s behavior by constantly encouraging your students to do their best. Competition between students I believe is not motivating them at all in the classroom. Instead it creates a competitive atmosphere for students which can make the learning material seem insignificant. I really like the way Wong designs his lessons for all his students to succeed. On the very first day of class he has his students do homework in class for 20 minutes. Wong does this to make sure his students to do their work and turn it in on time. The next day the students take an exam and then the day after that the students receive their graded papers and the cycle continues every week.
