Usually, a good neighborhood provides several aspects that make a person feel something a part of. How does the University of Dayton student body create a sense of togetherness to form a neighborhood? During my time here, there have been a variety of ways where school makes me forget about missing home. A strong community and a good group of friends allows me to be myself. Other variables that define a neighborhood are also offered and exhibited around campus. The University of Dayton does a great job of preparing itself to give support to students and teachers when the time is needed. My values and beliefs remain the same in terms of how I treat others. Being respectful and polite are the values I follow every day. Everyone finds something in common to talk about eventually. A lot of friends here at Dayton do a good job in following this as well. This is why finding friends early in my freshman year was not that difficult. The student neighborhood here at the University of Dayton for freshmen could become imitating. Upperclassmen sometimes possess that feeling of dominance over the younger grades. My introduction to the student neighborhood was awesome when I visited Dayton my senior year of high school. There were a lot of houses where students were welcoming me into their homes. Regardless of if it is what state, race, nationality, or type of high school you went to, there is a lot you can learn from someone by getting to know them. Everyone on campus can agree that a feeling of belonging and togetherness are factors that play into a community. You are able to rely on friends or neighbors for basic needs. Times when you are able to enjoy exciting moments is also what a neighbor is supposed to be about. “But mutual aid obligations are not the only content of the relationship; neighbors are also entitled to share certain joyous or festive events in each other’s lives” (Herberle, “The Normative Element in Neighborhood Relations” 11). Allowing yourself to listen to different perspectives from other people helps develop a certain bond. Students from other parts of the United States share unalike values and beliefs. How you approach yourself to accept and enjoy what others have to say forms a different thought
