The photo “V-J Day in Times Square” is a very famous picture in the world. It took by a photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt. The photo of an American sailor kissing a nurse in a white dress on Victory over Japan Day in the middle of Time Square, in New York City, on August 14, 1945. This photo is considered one of the most famous image of the 20th century. (Wikipedia) This picture shows a man wears a dark sailor’s uniform and a woman wear a white dress. They are embracing with each other and taking a very romantic kiss. The sailor is hugging the woman, holding her head, and in the meanwhile, the woman hides her face from the photographers view. Maybe on that time, the woman felt a little bit surprise because we can see her right hand is slightly lifted while her left arm hangs behind her with her hand resting on the back of her thigh in the picture. In this picture, we cannot see their completely faces very clearly, so we guess they are a couple or they know very well with each other. On many people’s view of this picture, this picture shoot in the background with smiles on their faces in front of some New York City buildings sound them and this picture should has a very romantic story with a young man and a young lady. …show more content…

If I did not check the background of the picture from Internet, I would still conclude that they were a couple or two young people in love. In additional, the picture looks like the women was welcoming the man who was she waiting for a long period, after they met each other and they took a very romantic kiss because they did not see each other for a long time. Why I would think it could have a romantic story because I saw some movies and books have so many characteristics as gestures of love and romance into my mind.
