Boasting, a daughter vice of envy, is something that has become very apparent when looking at vainglory. Boasting and glorifying in something false are both really apparent aspect of a vainglorious persons actions, especially on social media. If something good happens to us, we automatically want to post it on social media and let the whole world know or if we do something good. During the time of looking at vainglory it was the week of service and something I quickly picked up on was how many Instagram pictures there were of people doing service and snapchats of it. Why do we feel the need to let everyone else know when we do something good, and I know I have done this multiple times. When we think we “look good”, we take a picture and post it on social media to try and get as many likes as possible, which directly falls into vainglory and glorifying in something false like likes or appearance. Another example that really stood out to me was Snap Chat. Once you peel off one layer of vainglory, there is another layer linked to further temptation of the same vice; as soon as you accomplish something good, you have something new to take vainglory in. An example for me was trying really hard not to be vainglorious and then I received a good grade I was really excited about and wanted to tell everyone, which is glorifying in something that lacks stability. With every new accomplishment or good thing happening, it is another opportunity for vainglory to sneak up. Vainglory is a vice that is easy to attack you and extremely difficult to make it
