Conclusion: There is value to having a professional code, but not all people follow them for the right reason. Premise 1: Companies want to make money. Justification: Companies write a well written code of ethics for their employees to follow, but this code is only as good as the people who write it. People at the top don’t like to follow these rules, they want to make up their own set of rules, who’s going to go up against the president or vice president of the company when your job is at stake. When it comes down to making money the rules go out the window, not everyone practices what they preach. Companies want performance and financial goals achieved and if you don’t produce they can quickly replace you with someone else that will follow
