Van Gogh And Paul Cezanne's The Basket Of Apples

Van Gogh and Cezanne carry on a vast amount of dissimilarities in artistic style, but because their artworks are produced in the same era, which was between 1880 and 1914, both artists commonly put emphasis on their subjective senses. Vincent Van Gogh became mentally ill in his later years and went towards capturing the beauty of nature to reduce his tensions, which is exemplified in his artwork Irises. On the other hand, Paul Cezanne’s primary purpose of his painting, The Basket of Apples, was to demonstrate color as the key factor of creating three-dimensional form onto a flat surface. The time these two artworks were made reflects back to when artists, like Cezanne and Van Gogh, took a different turn from Impressionism to Post-Impressionism.
