During the summer I read a book called Divergent. Before, I summarize this book I’ll be telling you a little about the author who wrote the book. Veronica Roth who is the author of Divergent advanced from Northwestern University and received a degree in creative writing. Veronica Roth was so dedicated to writing this book, at times she worked on the book instead of doing her homework. Ms. Roth is now a full-time writer and now resides near Chicago. Before I read this book I looked at some reviews to see what others thought about it, a lot of people said that this book is like “The Maze Runner” and “The Hunger Games”. This is definitely a book that will have you at the edge of your seat. In the story, Tris was badly injured in the attack her faction planned against the other faction’s and I was wondering if Tris was going to die or not. The head of Beatrice’s faction told her to not tell anyone that she was “Divergent” but towards the end of the story, she told everyone because she wanted to let everybody know what was going on and I wondered what was going to happen to her since she told everybody. This story dealt with a lot of combat and fighting. This book is more of a futuristic action book which a lot of people want so this would be good for those people who like a lot of action. Reading the story and watching the movie is different because people want books that won’t put them to sleep and this is one of those kinds of books. To me “Divergent” is better than “Hunger Games” because in order to understand what’s going on in “Hunger Games” you have to read and watch all of the series. If you don’t read them in order, then you’ll be confused and won’t know what’s going on and a lot of people don’t like those kinds of book but “Divergent” isn’t one of those kinds of books. This story didn’t feel real to me and that’s something I didn’t like about the book. I’m not really a fan of futuristic books but I was still able to continue to read this
