Do you know how to start your own small business? Well, if you don’t then you’re reading the right paper. Some people don’t understand how much work you have to put into starting a business of your own. So, to help you out I have put together the information and steps you need to start your business. The steps go from an idea all the way to branching out your business.

As I begin to think about starting a small business I have to figure out what field of business I am going into. I have decided on opening a veterinary medicine clinic. I have just decided my business will be in the animal health region. The next step I take is to build a business plan. During this step I am figuring out who I will hire, where my business will be, what age or group of people I will be offering my services to, etc. Since I am a veterinarian my staff will include graduates of animal technicians and a couple of administrative business graduates as the secretaries. In this step you get to choose and register your business. The first action I am to do is name by business. My business name is “Rector Veterinary Clinic”. I go on to perform my next action which is to register my business name through the “U.S. Small Business Administration” (SBA). I have to fill out a DBA form due to the fact that my business name is not a default name. A DBA form is a “Doing Business As” form that you have to fill out if you don’t want your business to have just your name. There is a third step in this process where you have to register at state level. I don’t have to do this step because I am a sole proprietorship. If i had my business as a corporation, partnership, or any other I would have to register at the state level. If I had to do this step I would go to “Missouri: Register State Agencies” because my business is in
