Did you know there were more than 7,000 victims of medical research in concentration camps. These research experiments could have been done on something else than human beings. Most of these men and women lost their lives. There were approximately 70 different research projects. Dr. Josef Mengele conducted these experiments with the help of Dr. Miklos Nyiseli. A Jewish doctor who helped with many experiments, including help dissect bodies of twins. These horrifying medical experiments done to Jews had many consequences that affected the men and women chosen.
Experiments that were conducted included experiments on twins, experiments done to alter eye color, to attempt to change genders and many more gruesome experiments that did not need to be conducted. One experiment was the men and women getting their legs cut off and stuffed with glass, dirt, and metal to create a serious infection. All they wanted to do was find out if the drug worked. Couldn’t they have done this on a dead person (Allen Jr.). They also

Others didn’t survive that long. Many victims didn’t live long at all. Some died during the experiments and others died soon after. They were sometimes killed after if they survived (Bachrach). Some victims committed suicide by throwing themselves against wire fences. Others were determined to stay alive. They didn’t have a very good chance but believing you can do something is enough, right (Bachrach)? Those who did survive didn't have a perfect life. They had many problems with their bodies from the experiments (Allen Jr.). Some were blind from the color change experiments others had spinal deformities. It didn’t matter that they had these problems because they survived through the camps (Allen Jr.). Those who lived through the experiments were very lucky. But, being chosen and having to be put through misery was probably much more difficult and horrible than those who
