Victorian Era The Victorian Era was I time period in Great Britain it took place from June 20, 1837, to January 22, 1901, it was a hard time where all people of all ages had to work it was named the Victorian Era because of Queen Victoria and her time of rule. This could also be referred to as the end of the industrial revolution when scientist discovered steam power. To continue the government and law spread over a wide area. The government was made up of England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland but they had no written constitution.Before 1834 there was a law in place to combat poverty. Between the two world wars, the Victorian economy crashed causing British trading to slow down. (185 Hobsbawm) The economy was well before and after the crash. Before the crash, the economy was booming with Britain producing two-thirds of the world's coal supply. They also produce one-half of the whole worlds iron supply. They also produced five-sevenths of the whole world's steel this is good for the economy because the steel industry is just about to begin. The maintenance of the military was esanchale, from the end of the napoleonic wars to the mid 1850 the Duke of Wellington and his successors attempted to keep the same tactics and strategies. They made weapons better, made it easier to move units, and made equipment more durable.The army was usually made up of three household Cavalry Regiments, six Dragoon Guard Regiments, four Dragoon Regiments, four Light Dragoons, four Lancers, and four Hassall units.
