The town of Graymount established in 1896 and incorporated in 1900, was located one-mile from summit and had its own depot and post office. Snow’s first map was a simple drawing of the neighborhood that included deaths marked by a black bar. This map was a crucial part of his evidence to prove his theory that cholera is formed from waste contaminated water. Snow’s maps were also published in numerous of paper and textbooks, and people were able to follow the spread of the disease. This is important because it introduced a new kind of communication within the city. The doctor’s paper maps have resulted in many of the maps we see in modern days.

Gentrification, in this way, uses creativity as its justification (Blackwell, 2006). “The Fine Art of Gentrification” by Deutch and Ryan confirms that the aesthetisization of Toronto functions as capitalistic legitimization (Blackwell, 2006). In other words, capitalists are primarily profit enthusiasts, who defend their often disgraceful actions, evasively with an artistic and cultural reform. The distillery’s transformation from industrial production to commercial consumerism as the core of cultural arts is a crucial example of such an evasion. That is, gentrification takes advantage of using creative art to sugar coat the effects of neoliberalism (Blackwell, 2006).

Elizabeth Cohen presents five themes in Making a New Deal: “the significance of mass consumption, the nature of ethnic and racial identity, the social underpinnings of civic engagement, the fate of welfare capitalism, and the gendering of unions and the welfare state.” She attempts to contribute to the social and cultural study of Chicago’s industrial working-class. Cohen described the transitional period of maintaining ethnic identity in the 1920s to eliminating racial and ethnic divisions to become a “culture of unity” in politics under the new Democratic Party and the uniting of workers in the national Congress of Industrial Organization (CIO) union in the 1930s. It Was Never About the Map For many years now, extremist conspirators have believed that the world is going to end, and everyone will perish. However, one poet has a more positive outlook, “A Map to the Next World” by Joy Harjo illustrates the fall of man and the birth of a better world. Symbolism about ancient civilization, modern day society, and her hopes for the future in her poem are used to emphasize that humanity should work towards a restored future. Harjo keeps referring to a map in her poem, but a map was not meant for the creator of that map to use.

The blood in my veins boiled as I saw Nicole Malliotakis’s banner in the city this morning. Its election day after all. I wonder how this state will cooperate with someone like her as their mayor. I admit that I did make mistakes, but I still believe that I am capable of changing all the negatives of New York into positives. I got into my car along with the rest of my democrat party going to the election hall in Brooklyn.
The night air was thick and enveloped a warm hug to everyone. It was July 27 and the heat was boiling down, even at 8 p.m. Yet, even in the heat, my excitement could not be contained. My heart raced and my hands were trembling. My heart was making more noise than my sister. Normally, on any given day, my sister, Zoe, is the loudest person in the family.
A visit to New York City is an amazing experience for anyone. The atmosphere is completely different than the suburbs I’m so used to, which made all of the experiences even better. The memory is very vivid to me because of how fantastic the things to experience in the city are. The drive there from my suburban home was long, with not much to see as far as views on the way.
There were always efforts to improve the living environment in the nineteenth century. Even Patrick Gedddes spoke about the evils at hte turn of the century.
