The city of Vincennes is situated in the state of Indiana in Knox County, Indiana, United States, on the lower Wabash River. Its coordinates are 38.6783º North and 87.5161º West. It was originally established in 1732, and at one time was a French settlement. The population of the city of Vincennes has about 18,239 people with a density of 2,486.2/sq mi. The median household income was estimated to be $34.591 in 2014. Vincennes is assumed to be 99% urban and 1% rural. The unemployment rate overall is believed to be 7.0% in Vincennes and 8.3% in Indiana. The main causes of natural disaster in Knox County include floods, storms, tornadoes, blizzards, hurricanes, earthquakes, snow, and winter Storms. Several potential disasters can be detectable throughout the year such as tornadoes, floods, train derailments, terrorist attacks on government buildings or on critical infrastructures, and winter storms. The potential effects of disasters in Vincennes can result in economic loss, death and injuries of people, property damages, population trauma or paranoia, and lack of trust on local and federal government. It is also believed that the city of Vincennes possesses vulnerabilities which include the lack of adequate security measures in historical and governmental facilities, the lack of sophisticated equipment in the event of a natural or manmade disaster, the lack of trained personnel capable of dealing with a terrorist attack, and finally, the lack of train regulations capable of regulating what type of hazmat can be carried through the city and how often. First of all, to successfully mitigate any type of disaster, I believe that the city of Vincennes should possess enough funds and resources in order to respond effectively to the crisis. Secondly, they should provide training and drills to emergency personnel. Finally, the city should also educate the community about potential disasters and teach the community how to respond to
