The virtues of thought are necessary for a student to be successful as an electrical engineer. As an engineer, all aspects of the virtues of thought are not gained at Texas A&M University. The reason for this is because virtues of thought is gained through training, education, and learning (Miller). As a student of this institution, I believe we do not receive the necessary formal training for several courses offered. We do, however, receive education and learning experience heavily based on theoretical analysis. To be direct, not only the virtues of thought but also virtues of character can only be taught by real world experience. The University cannot teach students how to make the moral decisions without having a formal training.
The five virtues of thought consist of Phronesis, Techne, Episteme, Nous, and Sophia (Miller). These categories are directly related to

The experience that a professor can distribute among his/her students will drastically change how a student should act in the field. I know this statement is true because I have learned so much when I was in automotive school. The training was 50% hands-on and 50% theoretical in terms of the time of the class which was roughly 3.5 hours per class. This allowed myself to gain happiness because I was ready to get out in the field and start fixing vehicles the right way. I cannot say the same for engineering school here at Texas A&M because of the fact that our class times are condensed and the professor isn’t in our labs to train us. Basically, my experience at this University is that I trained myself to be the engineer I am meant to be. Until I can get into the field and begin working, I cannot say that I am happy or attained happiness here in terms of the virtues of thought. I will, however, gain achieve pride when I graduate from a world-renowned
