Even though schools around the country are cutting funding to art programs, all students should have the opportunity to creatively express themselves. First, the arts teach students life lessons such as perseverance. Drawing, for example, is not an easy skill and easily frustrates students with their work, however, it forces them to strive and do better. Second, participation in the arts impacts a student’s learning in other classes. The expression of creativity through the arts changes the way students learn and provides them with different perspectives of the material taught.
