To answer your question on “why Chick-fil-a uses their own code of conduct and is it because they want to use a stricter code and how does it compare to other fast food restaurants?” Ideally, the Board of Directors are responsible for drawing up the Code of Ethics for the company and the General Shareholders’ approve that Code.
In the Costco code of ethics, Costco said they conduct their business with the code of ethics. First, it is obey the law. Then, they take care of their members, employees, and suppliers. Last, they reward their shareholders. Law is the most basic need of ethics.
I suspect that the dissonance is occurring here. The reason for this argument is that corporate culture inconsistent with its belief and its action at Finer Bags. No company or organization is created to be dishonest with customers. The ethic of compliance measures how the ethical values of an organization guide its practices. The corporate cultures will comply with the belief and the actions.

Hodgson created a table of seven moral principles such as common good, autonomy, honesty, the dignity of human life, common good, humaneness, fairness, and loyalty. Whole Foods Market uses several of these principles in their organization (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). The most prevalent of them all is loyalty; therefore this is shown in many accepts of the organization. Moral Philosophy assists us to understand the concept of morality and what our expectation behaviors are. We learned the main differences between descriptive (factual) assertions and normative (value) judgments. Factual assertion is a claim that describes a situation as accurately as possible, there is no correct or incorrect answer since it is only a description of the setting or object.
If I were the CEO of Wal-Mart, I will ensure high ethical employee behaviour. Every level of management and non-management employees must fully understand the ethical implications of their decisions as it relates to their personal and professional values. Corporations need to implement a Business Code of Ethics and review with all employees. Also, an excellent tool for learning is case studies and role-playing. The key in this learning is to make the Code accessible and position it as a helpful tool for all employees.
Decisions taken within an organization are made by the leadership in light of the company’s culture, principles and policies.
