The reporting party (RP) stated on 7/21/15 a probation compliance search was performed on family member Joseph Apodaca Sr. in the family child care home. It was discovered the home was an immediate hazard to children. Present during the search were Elizabeth De La Rosa, Erica De La Rosa, and Citlaly Lopez. Also present were their children Michael Dominguez age 2 DOB 1/20/13, Isabella Garcia age 7 DOB 12/02/14, and Joseph Apodaca Jr age 1 DOB 3/17/14.
The following were discussed: Living Situation/Behaviors/family: Youth is currently living at the YCMA (YES) Shelter. Youth was court ordered on 11/29/16 to temporarily reside at Shelter. Youth is court ordered to obey the shelter rules and youth must attend ERC program. Youth attends the ERC program on Monday through Saturday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. Youth and family lacks positive communication.
The service user I chose to assess is a 17-year-old Hispanic female whose modified name is Tiana Santos. I provided therapeutic casework services to Tiana for a year in my previous role as a Therapeutic Caseworker at the Children’s Village, a foster care agency. Tiana was placed in foster care after been removed from her mother’s care due to emotional and physical abuse. Tiana’s father abandoned her mother and her youngest sibling when she was 5 years old. Tiana’s memories about her father were very limited due to her young age.
R.10 It was communicated to the sponsor the need to provide the minor with access to medical care. The sponsor was provided with a list of referrals of low cost medical providers and encouraged to identify a medical provider for the minor. The sponsor will make the appropriate appointments to maintain the minor’s health. On 07/08/16 an initial visit was conducted with the sponsor and the minor at their residence in Woodbrigde,
worked for the Children’s Center of Cicero Berwyn as a part-time Home visitor for six months from September 2016 thru March 3rd, 2017. She was a good employee who had passion to work with children and families. She created lesson plans for five children and families, prepared developmentally appropriate activities, observed children, provided resources and referrals to families in the communities. Her doctor had instructed accommodations and those were in place for her. Those accommodations included not to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time and not to lift more than 10 pounds.
Case 6 Gail and Louise are domestic violence workers who provide outreach services at the local courthouse. Because of the lack of an available private office, they conduct their peer supervision at a local coffeehouse, being careful only to identify their clients by their first name. A. Does this violate the Code of Ethics? I believe that it doesn’t violate the code of ethics.
Family problems and poverty cause Anthony to be an at-risk youth(Stearns 9/14). Currently, Anthony Williams is seen as a threat to society and will complete community service to better his image and connection with his community(Stearns 9/21). Anthony Williams should be placed on probation lasting 2 years which will require a curfew of 9 pm as a community treatment(Siegel, 2014, p.382). To be sure that the rules of probation are being followed and that Anthony is attending his classes and community service electronic monitoring should be put in place for the first year of his probation. Most offenses juveniles commit are done in the hours right after school gets out(OJJDP, 2014).
The following social policies and macro issues impact Neveah’s case: education, child mental health, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) equality. In 1974 congress passes the Education of the Handicapped Act, which required schools to provide mental health services to children with serious emotional disturbances (SED) (Fraser & Lanier, 2006). This protocol was included in the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and helped them gain additional resources in the school setting (Fraser & Lanier, 2006). Prior to residential treatment, Neveah attended a public school and had an IEP.
What is alarming about this situation, is that he had more than 60 charges to his name before he turned 18. The efficacy of this program needs to be addressed, however, its benefit to those who become part of it is worth the tradeoff. Kimewon, since early on has been detached from his family and society as a result of his behavior. Instead of being directly sent off to prison, Kimewon had the opportunity to reconnect with his indigenous roots and learn more about where he came from through this alternative justice program. The community council program also aided him in fighting addiction as well as help him attain his high school diploma.

After the initial requirements are done, a parent (guardian), attorney or probation officer must be present before any questioning is done. Even if the juvenile
Center services and programs offered would ultimately be dedicated by community needs, however; would include case management, individualized counseling, group therapy for drug and alcohol dependency as well as anger management and domestic violence, drug testing and treatment, education and employment resources, community service opportunities, financial management, parenting, and life skills workshops, referral services for housing and benefits, and supervision. Services and programs offered would be evaluated semi-annual with other services and programs being offered based on individual demands. Participants would be accessed upon being assigned to the day reporting center and a strict schedule created with mandatory reporting required based upon individual needs ranging from 40-80 hours per week. Continuous supervision and case management would ensure compliance with judicial requirements and goal attainment. There is no one size fits all day reporting center but offering an array of services and programs in combination with a solid mission and purpose will prove advantageous for all
During her rehabilitation process, she was rehabilitated psychologically because she was placed in a psychiatric institution and getting treatment from committee members. As apart of her sentence, she was allowed to live in a grouped home and enroll in a university after she received her high school diploma by learning in jail as a start on her reintegration into the real world. Lastly, While there are some weak aspects of the YCJA such as the media ban because this policy endangered the public. However, the positive aspect of the YCJA such as the rehabilitation and reintegration outweighs the negative by providing guidance for youth offenders and ensure they have a better future. Helping youth offenders is important because it makes the youth offender recognize their past mistake and decrease their chance in committing a crime again.
Services that may be provided, in liaison with local authority childrenâ€TMs social care services, include the provision of reports for court, and direct work with children, parents and families. Services may be provided either within general or specialist multi-disciplinary teams, depending on the severity and complexity of the problem.
