Fighting back and responding to conflict Bruno and Melba are a lot alike. Even though they are from two different books, they have a lot in common. Things always seem to get in the way for Bruno and Melba. It does not matter how hard things get for them ,they always fight back and believe in what they are doing. From all the books we have read in class i have chosen to do Warriors Don 't Cry written by Melba Pattillo Beals and Boy in the Striped Pajamas written by John Boyne. Boy in the Striped Pajamas was placed in Nazi Germany. Nazi Germany was not a great place, it was a hard time not only for the people that were jewish in the concentration camps, but for the people who dared to think for themselves, not just follow the idea Hitler and his Party gave out. In the Boy in the Striped Pajamas Bruno and his sister Gretel had to move from their home in Berlin,Germany where Bruno had three of his best friends Karl,Martin,and Daniel. …show more content…

Melba also stood up for what she believed in and she responded to conflict. Melba was mostly careful not to put herself in bad positions where she could get hurt, but that was not always the outcome. The whites never stopped wanting to fight, bully, attack, or be racist towards her. Melba was put down all of the time, but she never let that put her emotions down, she fought back. Melba decided to go to Central High School where all of the whites went. She was one of the first blacks to go to an all white school. Things didn 't turn out very well. Melba knew if she fought back, that would make things worse so she did something bigger than anyone had ever dreamed of. Soon Melbas integration efforts were recognized nationwide.
