Kamehameha was the nephew of kalaniopuu and he was the first ruler of the Hawaiian islands. When he was young kekuhaupio taught him war tactics and made kamehameha very strong. This leaded kamehameha to unify the islands of hawaii. Kamehameha spent more than half of his life, fighting with other chiefs. Kamehameha was an effective leader because he was resourceful and caring. One reason why Kamehameha was an effective leader because he was resourceful.
