Kamehameha was a very effective leader because he was intelligent and responsible, he was the first person to rule over all eight of the Hawaiian Islands. Kamehameha was also known as Paiea “the hard shelled crab” on the battlefield. This named suited him as he was seven feet tall and was very tough just like the shell of a crab. He was also an Ali’i (a chief or king) which meant he had more mana (spiritual power) than others did, with this he was treated with a lot more respect than others. Also he was a very tough and skilled warrior and at the time was smart as well.
