World War I was nicknamed “The war to end all wars.” As descendants of those who had participated in the war, it is evidently clear that that was not the case. From the beginning of the war to the end of World War II, there had been advancements between that time frame that caused an increase in casualties. With the technology and knowledge of the past, we are free from ignorance. In addition, we have the ability to address situations that potentially could have made the second battle inevitable.
