PLANNING Introduction Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), is an aquatic plant native to Amazon Basin. Water hyacinth can rise above the surface of the water as much as 1 metre in height. Seeds of this plant can remain viable for more than 28 years. It infests rivers, dams, lakes and irrigation channels on every continent except Antarctica. I will check if light affects the rate of photosynthesis of the water hyacinth. The number of bubbles produced by the plant is the rate of photosynthesis of the plant.

Requirements: 1. 5 Lamps of 0W, 25W, 50W, 100W and 200 2. Test tube (Of 100 ml) 3. Water Jar (Of 700 ml) 4. Measurement Scale ( Up to 20 ft.) 5. …show more content…

I have used bulbs of 0 W, 25W, 50W, 100W and 200W. The bulb kept at two different distance is also independent variable.

Dependent Variables : Dependent Variable is water plant. I will count the bubbles produced by the plant. For that I will use light resource for which I will be using a bulb. Number of bubbles produced in the water hyacinth is dependent variable because it increases when distance is less and decreases when distance is kept more.

Control Variables: Control variables for this experiments are: Time: The light will be given to the plant for the time duration of 1 minute. It can be controlled by using stopwatch. It it is kept for more time it will produce more bubbles.

Temperature of water : Normal water will be used every time to control the temperature of water. If two different temperature of water will be used, we will not be able to get the exact result and cant relay on the result.

Quantity of water: To control this variable water was properly measured by measuring jar and then kept for the
