When I was a young teenager, I had a very hard life. I made decisions that affected my life long term. I suffer from memory loss because of this poor decision I made. I went swimming by myself one night and the only thing I remember is getting in the water, the doctors don’t tell me what happened to my head. I struggle a lot with major pain headaches or flashes of memories but I then get instant pain. But I have friends/family that strive to make me a better person in life, when I'm with them sometimes they make me upset but most of the time I feel as if they are all a pillow to me. But ever since this, Cady disobeys rules or feels like just because she had a major accident she can still do things that her friends/family do. She does things with her friends and family that her mom tells her and her friends that she must not do because of the accident she had that can spark another major headache. Cady feels very uninvolved in life right now and she doesn’t know what to do, “It tasted like salt and failure. The bright red shame of being unloved soaked the grass in front of our house, the bricks of the path, the steps to the porch.” (E.Lockhart 5). That was Mirren for Cady, wherever Cady was Mirren was there with her. She was a “caregiver” , someone that supported Cady everytime and every second of the day (Archetype). Mirren is the one that helped Cady out the most or would let Cady know when the things Cady wanted to do were bad ideas because of her head. Mirren is a person that everyone wants to be around and that everyone wants to have in their life. “Mirren, she is sugar, curiosity, and rain.” (E. Lockhart 8) Mirren meant a lot to everyone on the island and was the person that built up Cady when she was down about Gat even though Mirren thought she should move on. When Cady got mad and would hide from everyone because she thought no one wanted her to do things because of her head, Mirren was there to tell her "Be a little kinder than you have to." (E. Lockhart 218). Mirren was that true friend of Cady’s that was her main pillow in life that was always there for Cady’s
