Football is considered as America’s favorite sport, it is usually many parents go to sport to get their child to active. Although in recent years a lot of parents have either taken their children out of football or will not allow them to play. This is for good reason as rising awareness of concussions and CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) have come about. CTE is a degenerative brain disease that causes people’s personalities to change and give them depression. In the article “Should you let your kids play football” the author Roxanne Jones presents her case on why parents should make an informed decision on whether on not people should let their child play football through anecdotal stories that use emotions to get people to think rationally
Good morning, or whenever you’re are reading this. I had recently read a book for a class it was called 101 Tips for Youth Sports Officials by Bob Still and from the Referee Magazine and the National Association of Sports Officials. The book was about like the title said it was about tips what you should do before, during, and after the games or how to deal with a certain event or situation. At times they would share stories with you how a ref handle a situation and then they talked about personal stories of how they messed up or they did something good. They talked about things in the past that were helpful to them and used to better their refereeing.
Ever wonder how one of the most famous sporting events began? Well, I am going to tell you how the First World Championship began. It began when two rival football companies, AFL and NFL fought to win the name as the best. Then, the AFL and NFL league had a football game to see who would be the best. Eventually, they signed a contract saying that they would merge together to become one and they would use NFL names and all of NFL and AFL teams.
When the Star Spangled Banner plays during any event, people decide to stand up and show their dignity. Recently in the NFL many players have decided to take a knee during the playing of the anthem. When the national anthem plays, wherever you are, people should stand up and show their respect. Kneeling during the playing of the national anthem is a disrespect to our country. President Donald Trump stated, “It’s important that NFL players stand for our national anthem next game.
To a lot of people, mostly boys’ cheerleading isn’t considered a sport. But did you know that cheerleading was originally meant for boys? I bet you didn’t, the first cheerleader’s name was Johnny Campbell; he decided that one day that he wanted to lead chants at the University of Minnesota’s football game. He then created a whole team that would help him lead the crowd at different University of Minnesota sports games. Then, on November 2, 1898, Johnny Campbell was recognized to be the world’s first official cheerleader.
Isabella, one of the most lively young girls I have ever met, told me that it was “a sad day I left [when the season ended]” and whispered to a new cheerleader “She[me] is the best.” as I was introducing myself to her. Emily, a girl with such a bubbly and outgoing personality, was eager for me to see her newly improved cartwheel she had been working on for months. It was a humbling feeling to know that I was able to make such an impact that they were counting down the days to when they could see me again. My entire athletic identity has been formed by strong leaders and their omnipresence in my life is what made my decision to begin coaching the best one I’ve ever made.

The moment you walk into the Star Turf Indoor Football Centre, you can almost tell straight away the kind of person you're going to get. A British man who lives and breathes football, being kitted out in football gear like he's about to walk out and play in the World Cup Final and built like your general English football player. As soon as he says hello, you get the energetic feelings that these kinds of people bring. This gives me the idea that this is football central for Hamilton and this place is just football football football, and since I've known him for years I wasn't the slightest bit surprised to see him being the same loud and funny guy. Duncan grew up in Manchester, which instantly makes you think of football.
Youth football is a sport that is played in various places, many people think that it is not dangerous and kids should be able to play, while others think that this sport is too dangerous and should not be played. Based off of all the evidence that I have found through research, it has let me to agreeing with the fact that youth football is too dangerous for young children to be playing. This sport has pros to it, some of which are very good, but the con side outways it with extraordinary pieces of evidence, these are the things showing that this sport is not to be played at this age and overall. There are a few pieces of evidence and facts that show proof of why it is dangerous and why this can’t be stopped. Some of the reasons are very serious, such as CTE which is a brain disease caused by rapid hits to the brain, this has lifetime affects and changes you in many ways, in worst cases this can even cause death.
Now as I am a junior this year, I will be faced with the challenge of having to be a leader for our soccer team. This is my third year playing soccer, and I will have to lead our underclassmen in a positive and respectful manner. This challenge of helping lead our soccer team will come much easier given I have had
Previously, I traveled down to Delaware Technical Community College to attend a leadership conference involving The Special Olympics of Delaware. I have recently applied to attend this year's New Castle County Vo Tech's Unity Day with other high schools in the district, and another Fall Leadership Conference in Dover, Delaware. Currently, I am the Captain for St. George’s Junior Varsity Volleyball team. This leadership opportunity helps me take charge of my team and guide them to success in the sport. My knowledge from previously playing, and my responsibility on the court helped push me to this position.
The game is closing down, your team is down by 2 points. Ten seconds are left in the game. Your team gets to throw the ball in from out of bounds. The pass is good, your player runs down the sideline... Pulls up to shoot.
