Were Romans as Strong as We Think?
Throughout history, the most notable civilizations were that of the Greeks and the
Romans. Often contrasting, these two civilizations in many ways laid the foundation for how present-day civilizations function in modern-day society. Although both the Greeks and Romans are commonly noted alongside one another, perhaps the more strong-footed and hard-headed were the Romans. The Roman Empire, during its reign, was one of the strongest empires in the entire world. Practically dominating the world at the time of its dominance, the strength of the people and civilization was undeniable. In having this complex way of government ruling, they had hoped that they would “avoid the problems of …various forms of government”

Something that is often overlooked regarding the Roman Empire is their philosophy. As it is pointed out in the lecture, “Romans were wary of philosophies that undermined Roman values” (Regent Blackboard). Readers should notice that a pattern forms here. Once again,
Romans pick and choose exactly what they want to induct into their belief systems, which is an extremely intelligent and underrated way of thinking. This allowed a place like Rome to rise to the top. If someone or a group of people are able to consciously shape rules the way that they want them to be, then it showcases great philosophical integrity, bringing about a wave of great peace.
