According to mapquest.com, West Palm Beach is a historic municipal that expanded in the 1960s on reclaimed swampland. It lies a heartbeat away from the Atlantic shore (Mapquest). Not only is West Palm Beach located in Palm Beach County but it is also the administrative center for the county. It has a population of about 919,000, according to the United States Census Bureau census for 2010. (United States Census Bureau). It poses a vibrant history than influences its current culture. Using it cultural aspects and development potential, Zyscovich formulated a master plan that concentrated on one of West Palm Beach’s most prized location—Downtown. In other to guide future growth while simultaneously reflecting the public’s vision of Downtown West Palm Beach, Zyscovich’s Master Plan of West Palm Beach Downtown promotes sustainability with an enhance quality of life (Zyscovich).
In other to accomplish their goal to have a more sustainability Downtown that promotes an enhanced quality of life, the Master Plan divides the Downtown West Palm into several district each one with their goals and objective that come together to accomplish the …show more content…

The Quadrille Business District will have high rise offices that will revive the zone between Clematis Street and CityPlace, which is currently unoccupied and abandoned. The Quadrille District will function as a transition zone between the Quadrille Business District and the waterfront. Government Center will be primarily composed of government related buildings. Between Industrial Chic, which is a residential district, and Providencia lies Loftin district. This district will serve as a transition zone. It will also be a supplementary location for office and residential space. The Clematis Waterfront district will be a traditionalist region that will conserve the scale and charm of the antique corridor.
