8. Why are you interested in serving as a DDA Board Member?
I have a personal investment in the future of Alpena as I envision a prosperous future for my future family and the local community. As a member of the Strong Town movement, a non-profit focusing on how cities develop; I strongly believe in their message advocating for cities to develop in a financially solvent, safe, livable, and inviting manner.
I want to make meaningful change in my hometown to help guide our city to be a model Strong Town. I am eager to contribute to my community by advocating for changes that shift the focus away from car-centric lifestyles and instead encourage walking, cycling, and fostering a sense of togetherness among residents (bring back third places!).

As a resident, I invested in the well-being of the City of Alpena and its downtown. I witnessed the importance of a thriving downtown and the positive impact it has on the community when I visited London. London and other European cities have shown me what a thriving, walkable community can look and feel like. I am eager to contribute my skills, knowledge, and resources to advocate for changes that will enhance our city.

My role has allowed me to gain knowledge of how both the County and City operate, as well as establish relationships with staff members from different departments. This unique perspective and understanding of the inner workings of the local government provide me with valuable insights and resources that can contribute to the betterment of Downtown Alpena.
I possess the ability to effectively articulate ideas and advocate for causes that I am enthusiastic about. My persuasive communication skills can be an asset when conveying the importance of certain changes or initiatives that can benefit Downtown Alpena and its community.
Finally, my position within the county allows for a flexible schedule, which means I can accommodate committee and board meetings as needed.
12. What is your “vision” for the future of Downtown Alpena? What will our downtown be like moving into the future? How can the DDA help our downtown reach this vision? What skills or experiences do you bring to the table to help us get there?
My vision for the future of Downtown Alpena is one that embraces sustainable and vibrant development, creating a thriving and inclusive community space. Here is how I envision our downtown (and our entire city!) moving into the
