Born in 1770, well-known musician and composer Beethoven is one of the most recognized names in the world of ‘classical’ music who was born in Bonn, Germany. As his life progressed, his hearing declined, which brought him severe depression. Beethoven’s overall work is generally divided into three periods. During the first epoch, Beethoven was very consistent and determined to master his talents musically. Most of his works were written on the piano and was greatly inspired from Mozart and Haydn, whom he took music lessons from. He also performed as a pianist in many concert tours. During the end of this period in his life, he started to recognize his hearing loss. Although Beethoven began to struggle, it had no effect on his music. This period was considered the most productive era and was the highest point of his career as stated by Barbara Lightner. The first finding of this symphony was in a book from 1809, but it was officially completed in 1812. Haydn and Beethoven seemed to be in a feud that in 1808 they publicly reconciled during a performance. Haydn then passed away in 1809 and in Beethoven’s seventh symphony, the classical root created by Hayden was recognized making it seem like it was a sort of tribute.
