Ludwig van Beethoven was an outstanding music composer, especially considering he was deaf most of his life and career. He was born in Bonn, Germany; historians believe he was born December 16, 1770, but no one knows the exact date of his birth. His mother was Maria Magdalena Keverich and his father was Johann Van Beethoven. He had two brothers Nikolaus Johann van Beethoven, and Caspar Carl van Beethoven.
One of the most difficult part of his life was having to deal with his father, Johann van Beethoven. Beethoven’s father was an alcoholic; when Beethoven was a child, Johann physically and mentally abused his son into practicing music. He was madly in love with a married woman named Antonie Brentano. He wrote a love letter for her, that took him two days to write, however he never worked up the courage to actually send it.
