Rich is our history with individuals who factored significantly in founding our country, as we know it. However, while the level of importance varies broadly from person to person, there are those individuals that have indisputably, made a far superior contribution. One person in particular that stood out from the numbers is George Washington, who gave America almost his entire adult life, was respected and admired and fondly celebrated as the “Father of our country”. George Washington is regarded as the Father of this country for many reasons. Practically every American knows that he was the first President of the United States of America. Most also know that he commanded the Revolutionary Army. However, is accomplishments as well as contribution to this great nation are so numerous that this prestigious title is well deserved.
As the General of the Revolutionary Army, Washington 's determination, leadership, and refusal to give up made the difference between victory and defeat on more than one occasion.
