Sarra AThere is no doubt that we currently live in a world of apathy. Most of the people today are careless and apathetic. While some might be caring and passionate to solve the endless problems the world faces, they aren’t caring enough. We always hear people talking about the 21st century and how everyone is careless and unconcerned. Unfortunately for them, actions speak louder than words. Therefore, instead of stating the obvious, one should start making the change as an individual to make this world a better place. Comparing the accomplishments people achieved in the 1960s and today, they are not even close. One of the main issues the world faces today as a result of apathy is poverty. Some teenagers complain because they don't own the latest phone, the most expensive car or Burberry's new clothing line. When others work all day to feed themselves and their family. Interestingly enough, “Zambia is one of the leading producers of copper in the world” (presscave.com). If it is a leading producer, and has many industries then why is it the poorest country? why do the people there live under poverty? why aren’t countries aiding Zambia and other poor nations? and why do most of us not know the answers to these questions? Another evident example of apathy today is bullying. According to bullyingstatistics.org, “Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year”.
