The artifacts, classroom demographics and methods of differentiating, demonstrate a correlation to SEP 3: Diverse Learners, MN-SEPT.03.A, and MN-SEPT.03.B. By being able to know and understand all your learners you are able to make and modify your lessons so all learners can benefit from the lesson. Classroom demographics allow the teacher to see the differences between each student and who each student is. Methods of differentiating allow for the teacher to modify the lesson so all students can learn and be supported throughout the lesson. The classroom demographics I provided are examples of the classroom demographics I worked with for my student teaching in first-grade and eighth-grade History. By doing so, students will be able to connect to the learning, be more interested, and want to learn more. One way I can do this is by including books that students can connect to. I can also ask students what works best for them to connect to the learning and include it in my teaching. By using different methods of differentiating, I am making the lesson fun, easy to learn, and modifying the lesson so all learners can benefit from the lesson. After each lesson, I will go back to the methods of differentiating and see if each section went/worked well in the lesson. If it did not, I will modify it and change it for the next so students can get the most out of the learning as everyone learns differently. If I see a strategy not working very well, I will look back on it and see if there is a way I can modify it or if I need to find a whole new strategy to include in my classroom to help my students learn. By looking at my classroom management plan, I will make sure to follow it and reflect on it after each month. I will see what part of my plan is working well and what part seems to be struggling. If one area is really struggling, I will have to modify my plan so I can create the best learning environment where students are motivated to learn and enjoy learning. Many classes and students work differently, which is why I will most likely have to modify or change my plan and use different strategies in my classroom as what I use for one class may not work for another class.
