I.6.2 Flamethrowers The first modern flamethrower, Flammenwerfer, was invented by German engineer Richard Friedler in 1901. These powerful weapons used pressurized air, carbon dioxide or nitrogen to push oil through a nozzle, which was ignited by a charge, producing a jet of flame. Flame throwers were mainly used to clear enemy soldiers from the trenches. Richard Friedler developed two types of flamethrowers – the smaller version Kleinflammenwerfer was a portable one carried by one person, and the larger version Grossflammenwerfer was suitable for transportation, also by a single person. From 1911 onwards, the German army deployed flamethrowers in three specialized battalions.

Argumentative Essay In “To Build a Fire,” the story of an unnamed man traveling along the Yukon Trail with a dog is told. Throughout the story, the man’s death is foreshadowed. The husky that he is traveling with has a natural instinct and understands, seemingly more than the man, that traveling the Yukon Trail in the freezing cold temperatures is extremely dangerous. The man soon learns how cold it is when he spits.
The idea that the of using controlled fires to protect wild areas is a topic in which it is debatable on the use of such a procedure as many see it as a way to control the forest and others see it as quiet a dangerous operation to conduct. As it can be seen as ways of controlling certain factors of the forest and even means of preventing future situations ,however with the pros their are cons . As these fires ensure to be controlled ,the system relies on specific factors and is based on what the fire is meant to incinerate .In other words the ways in which the procedure is preformed are too unpredictable such as variables of weather season and even area . But the pros of a controlled fire are those that need to taken in consideration for the
This article was made at the beginning of 2021, so her statements are up to date. The second article is also contributed to climate change by the author Mark Kreider. This article is called Fighting Every Wildfire
I am against prescribed burning because it alters plant community structure, and it can help spread weeds and increase the erosion rates of steep slope soils. It also removes much of the ground and near ground habitat structure, and makes life very difficult for small mammals and some reptiles. I believe that most of this wildlife dies because it has no where else to go. By removing leaf litter off the forest floor it interrupts soil formation process. Plant matter that would otherwise break down into soil humus is instead turned to ash.
It is often seen to create balance among elements and when taken care of it can be a great asset. In most communities a fire keeper is assigned to watch over and keep the fire going during a gathering for an event, ritual or ceremony. This is generally a man's job as the fire keeper. Fire is incorporated in the ceremonies like sweat lodges and smudging, which are both intended to cleanse and purify the mind, body, and spirit. One article explains “Often, it lets us reflect on our purpose on Earth either at the beginning in birthing ceremonies or at the end, when we go back to the spiritual world” (What is a Sacred Fire?).
People who argue against prescribed fires say that it "produces to much smoke" or "there's a risk of the fire escaping". First of all, the smoke of a prescribed fire is way less than that of an uncontrolled fire. Second, the chance that the fire escapes is very slim, it usually never happens in controlled fires. Some people worry about the plant life and the soil as well, when there is no need. Usually the habitat is destroyed when an uncontrolled fire is happening, and the soil only gets effected it the fire is at a somewhat high intensity.
This is bad because fires are getting worse. This is because houses have more flammable materials in them and climate change. Steve Kerber, the Vice President and Executive Director of the Fire Safety Research Institute said “The number of fires being
