President Trump’s continual deflections and attacks on any new agency or politician that presents him unfavorably has fueled the right’s suspicion of any entity that they deem liberal. I support the notion that people should be skeptical of the news they engage with, but in many cases this distrust is verging on fanaticism. On the other end of the political spectrum, networks that are considered liberal are practically jumping through hoops in an attempt to appear unbiased. Although political bias is often attributed to the left, It is my belief that bias may be even stronger among conservatives.
The book Bias written by Bernard Goldberg explains how the liberal media distorts actual news and as a result impacts society negatively. Goldberg joined CBS News in 1972 and retired 28 years later, in 2000. Goldberg describes the distortion in present day due to no diversity of opinion in the newsroom, so no matter how many news executives go on about diversity, about ethnic, and racial diversity and how much they say we need that to go out the full story about things, they don’t seem to care much about intellectual diversity or diversity of opinions. This is why journalist can bash on a certain side or cheer the other side and wont fear about what will happen. Goldberg views Conservative news as evil and liberal media as right.
Liberals and Conservatives are the leading political parties of America. Both focus on what the government’s role should be in our society. Liberals want the government to be involved, helping everyone gain freedom and equality. They want the people to be assisted in every way possible by the government. On the other hand, Conservatives want the people to be responsible for themselves and deal with problems directly.
Democrats and Republicans: All for One The United States (U.S) democratic ideology is attributed in factor to the formation of two political parties, so that checks and balances are maintained within politics. The Democratic Party, the older of the two parties is based on the philosophy of the government protecting and guiding the citizens. The Democrats believe in individual rights of the citizens and that American citizens should have the right to liberty, privacy, justice, equal opportunity and other things with the aid of the “big government” dogma. On the other hand, the Republican Party is based on decentralized government and restricted powers.

Even though the majority of news outlets claim to be unbiased, their role usually goes down one of two paths. Number one is the media actually taking part in the conflict through biased coverage, which results in them being the cause for increased violence. When media outlets are controlled by the general public, those outlets tend to contain some sort of bias. Each news station, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, ABC News, CBS News, and BBC news, all have their own opinions of the NSA surveillance programs, more specifically, the impact of Edward Snowden on the National Government.

CNN is known as being extremely liberal and very bias by Republicans and Foreign Eastern Countries. CNN actually has a lot of influence with the rest of the world.
I'm not gonna sit here and say that a few of the key issues between Hillary Clinton & Donald Trump didn't appeal to me in favor of Donald, regarding foreign-policy, I did support his view in stop sending Aid to countries that despise us! But when it came to key issues such as human rights I had to disagree. The US is not the world's police, I do agree with that statement from Donald Trump just don't think it applies when it comes to human rights!
Society expect to be constantly entertained; they have become so concerned with things such as who the latest star is dating, scandals, or dumb people doing rather idiotic things. Much of society have been consumed in their personal instant gratification and what makes them “happy”. When on an off chance that news does show things that are serious and impactful(not necessarily positive things that is happening in the world) people have become so numb that the best they could do is feel sympathetic and at worst continue on with their day. The other part of the problem is that those behind what is being published and shown on the news media have been absorbed in their avarice nature, whatever allows them to make as much profit they do. “Writing thousands of hours of coverage from what could have been summarized in a couple of minutes every few weeks, a new rhetorical strategy was developed, or-let’s be generous-evolved”(6), Saunders describes the new formula formed by mass news firms that would yield the most profit.
3. Most news sources are for profit organizations that edit stories to gain more attention and better ratings. Also, news stations like Fox and CNN contribute their own political views and feelings about a story, and they can present topics based on their own opinions and biases. News stations that tend to be more reliable include stations like PBS and other nonprofit broadcast organizations. One of the big topics in the news today is hate crimes and discrimination against people of a different race, gender, gender orientation, sexual orientation, religion, and people with disabilities.
The United States sudden war in Iraq was originally wildly popular but over the years more and more Americans have adjusted their views to be more critical of the invasion. Perhaps the single most important factor in driving initial support for the Iraq war was the mainstream media; Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and CBS. The justification of the war was the alleged presence of weapons of mass destruction, or WMD’s within Iraq, along with the September 11th attacks in the United States. Despite this, the Pentagon was highly involved with the media in ensuring a pro-war bias that led to heavy claims of censorship and propaganda being disseminated within the news. Debate over the extent to which the mass media serves elite interests, alternatively plays a powerful role in shaping political outcomes has been resolute by dichotomous and one-sided claims. Many commentators attribute enormous power to news media, claiming they have the ability to ‘move and shake governments’. Such views have found clearest expression in the debate over the CNN effect concerning the apparent ability of news media coverage to drive western intervention during humanitarian crises. The phrase CNN effect encapsulated the idea that real time communicating technology could provoke major responses from domestic audiences and political elites to global events. Analysing the CNN effect in terms of ‘who controls the media’ is useful because it reflects the debate within foreign policy circles.
Media bias is a real problem. When people are not aware of the facts alone, rather interpretation of facts, they are being manipulated. Media should report facts concisely and promptly with as much accurate information as possible. When networks allow to dictate how they report news, there is a much greater chance to be biased. When networks accept monetary incentives to report in a specific manner, there is a much greater chance to be biased.
Thanks to social media, access to information from all over the world has become easy. Because of the developments that social media has reached, it is no longer necessary for us to rely on receiving information from second hand sources. We are now able to access the main source of the news ourselves such as an eyewitness or video footage of the event. This can insure that the information we receive is reliable considering that many secondary news sources tend to be politically biased.
